With the help of Binghamton University Liberty Partnerships, books will be wrapped in custom decorated wrapping paper and distributed throughout the Southern Tier for people to find.  It’s like a literary treasure hunt for all ages!  However, these books are not just any books, these books mean something special to someone.  And these special books will hopefully mean something special to someone else.

This is Books for Bing.

Rembering

Created in memory of Mark Alan

Inspired by initiatives like Books on the Subway and Books in Woodbridge, Books for Bing is taking the joy of hidden surprises and reading one step further.  Books for Bing seeks to connect people.

Connection is perhaps one of the most influential contributors to individuals’ happiness.  Sometimes, though, connection can be difficult.  Whether we are caught up in our daily lives - work, school, that never ending to-do list – or we are caught up in our own minds - struggling to overcome fears and anxieties that drain our mental health.  Books for Bing is a simple way to engage with the community around you and simply connect.

Kind souls donate books containing personal messages - written inside the book cover or with an enclosed letter - sharing why the book is important to them.
